This crow gracefully holds up a twig from our lilac tree - preparing to launch from my studio roof back to the ongoing nest-building project.
The subtle texture in the image includes ancient graffiti from a spot near my old hometown - words and messages carved over centuries in the tower of Durham Cathedral in the north of England.
